With Spring comes a sense of renewal; we invite you to take this chance to listen a little more closely to your body. What might it need a little more or less of? Our top 3 tips are below.

Movement

If the benefits of exercise were packaged up in a pill, we’d all be taking it! Exercise is one of the fastest and most effective ways to boost mood. Start simple, a fast walk or light jog, Pilates, or yoga class is all it takes! Aim to increase your body temperature and get your heart rate up for at least 10 minutes a day, then build upon this.

Restorative Sleep

We need sleep just as we need air, food, and water – it is the only time our brain and body is able to deeply ‘spring clean’. Switch your screens off earlier, get into a good wind-down routine, and aim for 8h per night.

Gratitude, Mindfulness, and Meditation

Although we may be able to do a number of things in a given moment, we cannot focus intently on more than one. Thus, in a state of gratitude we cannot also be engaging in negative thoughts. Find ways that work for you to adjust your focus to the positive, either through expressing gratitude, journaling, or noticing the beauty around you; the sound of the birds, the sea, or wind.
