Round, cream coloured beans which are a staple in Middle Eastern cooking with a firm texture and a mild, nutty taste. Also known as garbanzo beans. Almost completely fat free and high in protein. Also high in iron. Great source of protein and fibre.

Traditionally used in curries and falafel as well as being the core ingredient in hummus. Combine them with wholegrains to make a wonderful vegetarian meal that is high in protein. Use to make daal or add to pasta dishes. Great in casseroles, salads, soups. Roast them with olive oil, salt and pepper until crisp for a yummy and healthy snack. Dried chickpeas need to be cooked for a 1-2 hours or soaked for 24 hours prior to cooking. Certified organic.
